DIY With Dryft Gyfts: Soul Collage

Samantha here,

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. These trying times can take a toll on our mental and spiritual health. Take some time out of your day to get in tuned with your intuition; your soul. There is a lot to process right now with things changing day by day so it's good to take a moment and slow down and reflect.

One way I like to do this is by doing something creative. The process is meditative and the outcome is heart warming.

I was first introduced to Soul Collages when I was getting my RYT 200.

"SoulCollage® is a creative and satisfying collage process. You make your own deck of cards—each collage card representing one aspect of your personality or Soul. Use the cards intuitively to answer life's questions and participate in self-discovery. Joyfully deepen your understanding of the relationships between your personality parts, you and your family/community/world, and you and your dreams, symbols, and Spirit. "

You can order your own SoulCollage® kits, but it's easiest and cheapest to just use what you have at home. First, you'll need cut outs from magazines or pinterest. I like to cut out words that inspire me, patterns for background filler, and anything else that catches my eye. You will also need a glue stick and a small canvas, cardboard, or card-stock paper. Whatever you have on hand. I got glue sticks and canvases from my local Dollar Store.

Before gluing anything down, I like to intuitively place the cutouts on the canvas and arrange them to my liking. Don't put a lot of thought into it and let your intuition guide you. Naturally you will display a theme or a message that is meaningful to you. If you make your collages on card-stock you can start to make a deck with you cards. Like a tarot deck, you can go to your your soul card deck for inspiration and guidance. Or if you use little canvases, they make really cute bedroom decor.

Have fun with it!

If you make one be sure to tag @DryftGyfts on Instagram. We would LOVE to see what your soul created :)
